We love this school so much; it’s our second home! A home to our family is a place where you always feel safe and loved and this really embodies what Evergreen Country Day means to our child. Not only are the academics strong but starting in preschool our son has been learning to self-advocate, to speak in public and has gained so much self-confidence and self-awareness. Now as a first grader, every adult at the school not only knows my child’s name but really knows him and cares for him as a unique individual. His teachers focus on what HIS strengths and weaknesses are and encourage his individual learning. This school and all the families are such a welcoming community-we really are a family! All I hear from my son during any breaks: “When does school start”, “I miss school”, “Is tomorrow a school day?”, “We have the best school ever." As a parent I couldn’t ask for anything better.
Evergreen Country Day has changed the way I think about education. At our previous school, I had to be the advocate for my children’s needs and interests, but at ECDS I have a true partnership with the teachers and administrators--each one knows my children and has the time, resources and desire to help them thrive as students and individuals. ECDS offers high-quality academics and an extraordinary school community that fosters curiosity and compassion.
Our three kids have been attending ECDS since preschool and are now in Kindergarten-4th grade. They have three very different personalities yet all have grown immensely and blossomed as individuals through their years at ECDS. I am so impressed with the confidence, critical thinking skills, leadership adeptness and conflict resolution abilities they have acquired from the school's curriculum and programs. I have no doubt we made the best choice of schools for our children.
Our family has been thrilled with our child's entire educational experience (both in and out of the classroom) at Evergreen Country Day School. If you value small class size and individual-centered learning in a caring a nurturing environment, you owe it to your child to consider this school.
In a world that is rapidly changing, we have found Evergreen Country Day to walk a balanced line between teaching necessary fundamentals and exposing our daughter to progressive and innovative thinking that prepares her for a life we can only begin to imagine.
